Here's what everything on a custom mix result means.

What are Target and Result?

Target is the colour of the paint you want to match. Result is the colour we expect your mix to make. The closer the two look, the better the mix.

What does the match quality mean?

Under Match quality you'll see one of these:

  • Excellent match: the result should be very hard to tell apart from the target.
  • Good match: close, with a small difference you might notice side by side.
  • Rough match: in the right area, but you'll likely see a difference.

What are Delta E and Similarity?

They're two ways of showing how close the result is to the target. Delta E measures the difference between the colours, so lower is better. Similarity turns that into a percentage, so higher is better.

How do I read the recipe?

The Recipe lists each paint to use, with the most-used paint first. The parts tell you how much of each to use compared with the others. For example, 2 parts of one paint and 1 part of another means twice as much of the first. Tap a paint in the recipe to open its page.

Why does it say "Missing paints"?

1 or more paints are missing from your palette. One of the paints in the recipe isn't in your palette. If you own it, add it to your palette. Missing paints are highlighted in the recipe.

What is "Rate this mix"?

At the bottom of a result, tap one of the faces to tell us how well the mix worked for you, from Terrible to Amazing. Your rating helps us improve custom mixes.
